Weather via NWS XML on Desktop

Project page for project related to a desktop application that parses XML information from the National Weather Service.

Interesting points of discussion for project:

  • The actual application that shows the information.
    • The interface
    • Making this project a component of a bigger app, added pieces for showing Current Conditions in said bigger app
    • What languages to program this in? C# with WBF? C++ with GTK/QT?
  • The server-side processing that parses and stores the XML information from the NWS feed.
  • How to store the images along with the actual weather data in a compact yet useful format.
